I have a problem with mu boiler its the Turbomax that has the two green plastic switches for turning the system on and setting to water or central heating and water.
1st we had an issue with the unit turning itself off and a local company said it was the Gas valve which they replaced, not long after this the boiler would not hold pressure so checked on line and advised to pressurise using a foot pump which we did and that seamed to fix that and no pressure drops but we have a problem with the boiler still.
If we turn on the boiler and set all dials for heating and water to 9 and the unit fires up through the process checks, turn on the water and the water light comes up, turn it off and the light goes out, turn on the central heating and the light comes on and fires up no problems, let the unit warm the house no problem. |Turn on the hot water and when the water runs hot the boiler turns itself off by lighting up the red light and shutting the boiler down. if we do not run hot water the central heating can be put back on and will warm up.
After speaking with three heating engineers in Coventry everyone has said a different part so do not trust them. can you please help?

After speaking to three engineers?

So you expect that they will give you a free diagnosis so that you can repair it yourself?

No wonder that they will give you different and incorrect answers when they know they are not going to be paid.

So having got nowhere with that avenue you come here expecting to be told here.

Well that will not work for you either because the only way to diagnose the fault is at the boiler!

But we are not allowed to give DIY repair advice here on gas/combustion related issues.

The obvious advice is to call someone to diagnose the fault and repair the boiler. You should not pay for parts which don't cure the fault or for an incorrect diagnosis.

Alternatively call Vaillant or British Gas for a fixed price repair at about £300.

But a good independent would be far cheaper but you do have to pay them for the diagnosis and as a guide I charge £84 for that!

In all probability its something quite simple and most likely just what would have been covered by routine annual servicing if you had bothered to have that done!

Thanks for your incorrect posting re my question. 1st of all I am not a corgi registered repair person so would not even attempt at taking a boiler to bits, 2nd I pay my way for all repairs and 3rd if it was not for so called trades men giving incorrect info out or mis diagnostics we would not have to revert to forums like this.

My question was a valid one as i am fed up of being told stupid things when it is not the correct thing, yes paying for wrong info is not good nor is paying for work that does not need doing. If i could get an idea of what is wrong i could then trust a heating engineer that actually say's the correct info.

This is my 1st run on this site and to be honest if anyone asks me a question about my specialist industry i would try and help them not rip into them and treat them like a mug.......
