So my Easter weekend project is to remove my old garden path.

The path is horrible, concrete, runs right down the middle of the garden and in totally the wrong place.

Even though it nearly killed me. I have pulled up the old path.

In places it was 6-7 inches thick.

I now want to returf the space where the path was. I need to raise the level to match the height of the rest of the grass. The path is 120ft long so do I use just top soil or do I use sand first and then topsoil. I am looking for the most cost effective option.

Fill it with soil and then turf, turf needs 100mm of top soil.

Be prepared to top dress the turf once the ground has settled.
