For a standard installation probably done 20-30 years ago.....

1.From where is a F&E tank fed?
2.What feeds the F&E tank?

Thanks
Zack

Don't understand your question. The FE tank is in the loft (normally) and is usually mains fed through a ball valve. The water in the tank is connected to the system via a 15mm (normally) pipe to keep system water level constant. It also provides room for expansion of the system water.

Thanks for the reply Pete.
My F&E tank is in the loft. I also thought its fed thru the mains. But when I closed the mains there was still a powerful inflow. Hence my question.....
So its probably fed from somewhere else despite if I follow the pipes it tees with the inlet pipe for the CWT ( Cold Water Tank) which is definitely mains fed. Any ides please?

Hi Charnwood,
Thank you for clarifying the matter graphically. It will help those a bit confused....if any.
And what would your input be to the issue raised?
Cheers
Zack
