3 years ago I had two Bristan showers fitted (Prism, surface mounted) running off a pump.
Shower 'a' gets used all the time, shower 'b' (as its the kids) doesn't.
Recently I have noticed the pump turns it self on and off briefly. Having read the instructions it indicated a potential leak. Shower 'b' has been leaking out the front of the control for some time. my assumption was the rings / washers needed replacing on the cartridge of shower 'b'.
I removed the cartridge for shower 'b' , replaced the rings / washers and hey presto no leak out the front of the control. However what I noticed was a leak out of the shower head - i.e. leak can't get out the front so its going through the shower head. This has the problem of turning the shower on now and again (and pump) even when in the off position. My assumption is the cartridge needs replacing as I am guessing it is not shutting off properly and hasn't done so for a while.
would this be a reasonable assumption. i have tried calling bristan but after 4 failed attempts listening to their music I gave up.
One other question that has baffled me. when the pump is turned off, water comes out of shower 'b' even though it is turned off (doesn't out of shower 'a'). When I turn the pump on it stops (apart from intermittent as above). I cannot work this out - any ideas? or is it normal
