Two-Gang Extension wired into wall socket/spur

The wagos would be my first choice, but having to buy 5O in your case is a bit OTT. The terminal strip's would be perfectly adequate until you get an electrician in.

I have lightened up an image of the FCU back box which shows the 3 earth cables, its not clear in the original.

So with regards to the loose live conductor in the Socket, would the fuse constantly trip if that conductor is part of the ring mains? Beyond terminating that conductor, is there any other basic diagnostics I could carry out?

The terminal strip come in 3A, 6A 16A, whats best? And is it okay to put two into an adjoing block or should I split the block up into singles and cap them independently. Thanks!

It appears that one of them disappears where the grey cable comes thru the grommet ,it may just be loose and at some point been a flying link to the FCU's earth terminal.

Others may disagree, but in the current circumstances I think it would not be terrible to wrap the loose ends in insulating tape.
