two gang light switch

external wall lights will not work independently, will only work if conservatory switch on also, checked wiring, one wire bridges both switches and tried wires in different locations all wires are live, all wires are grey obviously the earth is standard and connected to back box but i am only used to UK colours on wiring

sounds like bridge is wrong

take the bridge from the permanent live of the first switch not the switched side
