Two gang lightswitch swap

Hi all,

I'm swapping out a 2 gang two way switch, however, the old one seems to have more connections than the new. The new seems to be one short? Can anyone please confirm what goes where in this case?

One of the old ones is an intermediate, you might have to replace as a grid switch.

Not as it is. If you can find a two-gang intermediate switch then that would make it an easy job.

You can then ignore one of the terminals but you can't add an extra terminal to the switch you have bought.

Again though, just need advice on connection matching. This Screwfix one isn't same as the current one. No 'MMO' for a start. Can someone advise on connections please?

you could replicate the old switch using plate and switch modules from click scolmore

It actually doesn't matter which one you use - but ignore the one I crossed out.

No it doesn't.

What MAY be confusing the op is the illogical way they often tend to label intermediate switches, because TO ME, it would make more sense if the top row was labelled L1 and L2, and the bottom row labelled L1 and L2 - to match the configuration of the 2-way switches.
But there you go.
