Are then any rules about how to do this (I don't have a problem getting it to work). Do I have to use the method given on this site or can I take wires from each switch+rose to a junction box (ie cut 2+e between rose and switch and 3+e from new switch). Conduit is too small to take a 2+e&3+e. If it is can I put an extra single wire down the conduit or should I pull the 2+e and try to get a 3+e up.

Thanks

Jim

which way you do it is up to you so long as you stay within the regulations. but a 3 core and earth is easier for future referance

From the sound of it your plans would not comply with the wiring regs because you can't just pull a single core cable down the conduit with a T&E (except in some circumstances). A tip for you....use 1.0mm 3C+E not 1.5mm 3C+E. This works nearly every time, the 1.0mm is just that bit smaller and usually just enough to get it in the old tubes. See how you go
