Hi Guys new on the site and looking for some advice. I have a big bay with a large window below and above. The area in the middle of the 2 windows is showing some lateral movement away from the house and I have been told that I need to tie it back to the main house construction.

I was thinking that i need to forms of straps to cover this off before having new windows installed. A tie on from the main house joists at floor level onto the wall taking away all the internal plaster to make sure its attached to the brick internally and then also a straight horizontal tie on either side of the bay bending it around the wall on each side to hold the top level of the bay also.

Am I correct in my thoughts and should I do anything else please.

Thanks Phil

Tying it back is half the job, the other half is finding out why it is moving and dealing with that if its something different
