Once a circle is broken, as S.henge has been, the power is gone and the people forget.
Francis Pryor has done a v. good visualisation of the area surrounding the site when it was first built and the amount of woodland would've made it a secret place, full of shadows and memory. Going along the Sacred Way would've been a powerful experience for the folk who worshipped there.
There are smaller sites around the B.Isles which have retained their integrity but you have to search for them.

no its not you numpty the word horizion was not used to describe a pyramid till several centuries after the papyrus .
Do a wee bit more in depth research and stop jumping on the first thing you find that matches your thought processes
