Do you know what a day rate is?

The longer he takes, the more he earns.

You’ve confused price work and a day rate.

Apologies (posting between sets)

There comes a point though, when he'll stop getting paid if he takes too long.

Unless he's being paid by some eccentric millionaire or living museum or some such, where the process rather than the result is the goal.

But you said he has no time limit?

I'm still wondering where the super human accuracy was supposed to be by the way, that got forgotten about when we got pictures of the lopsided schist bowl.

He’s extended family so I trust him, his day rate is very reasonable.

He does heritage work and is quite well known in the stone carving world.

Give him a copper chisel and a quantity of sand along with a solid granite block, that will test him how good he is. Lol

You don't mean a scientific theory then, as I mentioned earlier what you're describing isn't a Theory at all.

But I'm guessing you haven't studied much science.
Good guess/theory, I'm not a scientist I got a C GCSE lol

But then I'm just having an opinion, I care not who believes or likes them. :-)

I might as well go and cut down one of my trees in the garden with a kitchen knife and see how long before I give up as an experiment too.

You have gone from "it can't be done", to "it'll take ages" (with "both he and I would have given up" thrown in).

That's progress ;-)
