I am considering putting underfloor insulation in three of the first floor bedrooms to assist in retaining the heat.

With three children, it will be very difficult to completely bring up the floorboards/chipboards.

I have heard that there are different kinds of insulation that can be poured/blown under the floorboards.

Is this realistic and safe or should I moved the family an furniture and go for some of the other suggestions earlier.

Many Thanks

you wont be retaining any heat by boarding under the floor as warm air rises all you will be doing is preventing any warm air from downstairs finding its way up into the bedrooms.
is your loft insulated?

The loft is insulated.

Just a thought. The house was built in 1979 (pre wall insulation). Each room has two outside walls. Should I be considering wal insulation instead?

Cheers
