underlay for laminate flooring..

l'm putting laminate flooring down in my living room and have just took up the carpet which has underlay.
Can l use this underlay to put my laminate flooring down on.
Also where is the best place to start the flooring, l was thinking at the door as l have to doors into the living room...

No, that's underlayment for carpet, you need underlayment for laminate.
