underlay for laminate or wood flooring

`well im about to look into a new floor to go onto of my floor boards in my office/box bedroom. just wondering if i could get away with using some carpet underlay for the laminate or would i have to go buy some of the proper flooring foam from say b&q that charge 20 odd quid for ?

You cannot use carpet underlay, it's a completely different product designed to do a different job.
