I've got a basin which is attached to a wooden pedestal, but to fix a problem with the waste, it looks like I'm going to need to remove the basin from the pedestal and this will involve removing the taps somewhere along the line. The pic below shows the compression joints. I was planning on undoing these in order to get the basin off the pedestal. Can they be tightened back up when its time to put the basin back on, or do they have to be replaced?

alfie they can be tightened back up, but make sure the supply to each one is isolated or turned off
