I had some downlighters installed and there is an unsightly patch left where the original light was. It feels spongy so when trying to sand it makes no difference. This was done 1 week ago. Any ideas?
Brilliant choice---it does not set hard.
You need a bit of plaster board to fill the hole. If possible screw it to a joist where the original fitting was fixed. If no support available, yYou need a piece of plaster board as wide as the hole to fill, and a bit longer. Affix a string tail, apply plaster and insert it into and across the hole;use string to pull it down. You can then fill with filler or plaster.
