Unsure to what this material is on walls

Hi,

I've currently moved into this house and I'm looking to redecorate. There is this type of material on the wall that seems unbelievably hard to get off. (See photos) I need it removing as I want to skim and paint around the house.

I've used a wall paper stripper steamer and a scorer with wall paper removal but it doesn't really have any effect. In some places I can get a good 4 inches off however everywhere else it comes off in the tiniest pieces that makes it incredibly time consuming and difficult to remove. If anyone could let me know what type of material this is and the best way to remove it, that would be great.

I've been told it's all 3- woodchip, artex and textured wall paper.

it is artex and it may well contain asbestos

if you want to strip it you should get it tested

If it’s artex and solid it could be skimmed over to save stripping it
