Hello everyone and seasons greetings to you all .
My garage has just one 13A socket , which I think , is tee`d off the ring main using a single 2.5 cable . A fused spur is connected to this for the light switch.
Running into this I have a freezer , a tumble dyer , a pond UV light and a small dosing pump for my pond .
I`m about to add an air source heat pump for the pond , which is `plug and play` rather than hard wired . It draws a maximum of 1kw of power .
If I use my socket as it is , will I be overloading it ?
If so , what do I need to do to increase my capacity ? I`d like a rough idea of the work involved , before I call in a professional . My meter is at the opposite side of the house , so running cables might be an issue ? If so , I might run the cable for the heat pump to another indoor socket .
What do you think ? Any advice would be much appreciated .
