Go easy when nailing home as you can indent the upvc and it looks terrible.
Small gentle taps till it goes through the facia, hit the nails square on as the polytops tend to come off and its a bugger trying to get the nails out.
Wouldnt do any harm if it makes you more comfortable.
Look out for freezing weather when doing the installation as the upvc is more susceptible to cracking.
