Hi

I'm doing a small porch on my place. Can anyone advise on size of wall if my window is 1m and it's going to be joined to another window with a 90 degree corner support just can't get my head around it . Going to have a normal sill on aswell.

Also it will have a lean to roof how do i fix to top of windows? Is there some sort of wall plate I need or do I just screw through the frame?

Hope this makes sense as I'm pretty new to all this but really want to give it a crack.

Cheers

Yeah you need a plan view sketch to see it.

So a window usually sits back from face of brickwork by 25mm

So if your side window is 1000mm wide, the external brickwork will be:

10mm gap for tolerance + 1000mm window + corner post + 25mm
(Depending on design you might need another post against wall).

Your corner post needs to be structural of course.

Yes you need a head plate, which sits on the corner post/s and window frames.

The roof rafter are birds mouthed over the head plate.
