Using adjustable feet

Hello,

I am trying to make my desk more sturdy as the current feet are pretty wobbly and worn down, although I also would like to make the desk sit lower whilst I get the opportunity. (desk is made out of wood)

Would the best option be to cut the leg to my desired height and then use something like - https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=s...hWGig8KHQZmD-wQ_AUIBygC#imgrc=c37VvNhKnuvhYM: to insert into the bottom of the desk leg so that I can fit adjustable feet?

I guess the size of the threaded insert could be determined by the size of the timber leg, but the larger the better and maybe having a thread of 10mm would be my choice.
These devices are really for levelling rather than adjusting the height, but they are good for what they are.
Is your desk pretty sturdy otherwise?
