I have to replace a boiler soon, actually 2 or 3 at holiday flats, and have been looking at the Vaillant info but can't really see the difference between the Plus and the Pro other than price. There must be something different technically but the brochures seem to say all the same words. The performance data is all the same and the words don't seem to go far apart.

Can anyone advise?

most obvious difference is the front cover no controls cover on the pro in a holiday flat the pro will be fine so long as it provides adequate hot water size of the property is the key - how many outlet you intend to supply pro 28 / 831 will only supply a bath or 1 tap at a time the 837 will do a bath + a tap or a shower + a tap with reasonable temperatures

Amongst other things, I have a vague recollection that the pro has a condensate trap, whereas the plus has a syphon that discharges in pulses. Please don't take my word for it though.

The plus has a 2 speed pump and an extra years warranty.

I would always pay the slight extra and fit the plus.

The Pro was brought in as a basic entry model for the new build market.

you get a filling loop + factory made long elbows too with 800's but not with pro 20's

The boiler display system is a simplified version.

Not sure if this is relevant but in my school we had 2 Vaillant turboMAX pros, this was the simplified version of the plus model, one was installed for 5 years and the other 4 years, both never broke down and were in near constant use whilst the Keston 170 in another part of the building broke down.

I don't go to the school any more so I wouldn't know how there are doing now.

The turboMAX pro like the ecoTEC pro didn't have a built in filling loop, 2 year guarantee, advanced display system, concealed user controls and preformed copper tails.

Thanks guys. That settles it, if I go Vaillant it will be the Plus. I've already got a Plus 937 at home and am very impressed with that.

Now where did I see that stuff about Broag..........!

Cheers.
