Vaillant EcoTec Pro 28 problems.

Over the last couple of weeks my boiler has started to throw the occasional S.54 and F.64 codes. I know when its happened because the hot taps run cold.
The whole system is 8 years old and has been serviced every other year.
Normal service is resumed by pressing the reset button.
The question is 1. do nothing but keep pressing reset. 2..call Vaillant for £285 fixed price repair. 3... try to find local (NR30) Vaillant expert for repair.
Advice welcome.

Either or of the 2. Depends if Vaillant FPR can sort the s.54, which is a water shortage or blockage of some description. Could also be that the f.64 is causing the s.54?
