Vaillant Group Service - chargeable?

If a Vaillant engineer is called out to attend and advice on an issue, is the visit chargeable?

As far as I understand it unless something has failed that is under warranty you pay.

To get someone out to advise you I would be expecting to pay.

As I had reached the end of my tether trying sort out my HW issue with my VR65 +VRC407F and Vaillant were not offering any useful suggestions, I was thinking to call them out to investigate. However, I think I just might have resolved it, but more tests needed. See my problem thread..
