Vaillant Group UK LTD and Martin Cox certainly know how to win over their installers.
Having been with them for over a decade and through the purple patch of melting boilers through faulty burner seals, dodgy divertor valves, F75 faults, Wilo and Laing pump mistakes, bursting hoses, the new boilers are half decent if not plastic and overpriced.

So no surprise that Mr Cox decides yet again to fook over they're loyal installers by sending out letters offering to steal the installers customer for the princely sum of £84 including a 12point yearly service.

Not content with passing on the installers details, no they give YOUR customer Homeserves number!

Congratulations Vaillant, yet again you've shown just how wrong you have the industry and are koonts!

And for the home owners out there reading this. ... Don't forget the inherent misuse of your personal data. Same goes for Ideal Boilers too.

Indeed I got an 'offer' for Glow Worm (ie, Vaillant) to service my new boiler after it was installed. Needless to say I am sticking with having it serviced by my independent RGI. Shame other people might get taken in though.

what these people don't tell you clearly is that it is only the boiler they inspect/service. radiators can remain unbled and unbalanced, inherent system faults won't be addressed and you will get a different person every year.

there tech line is generally stacked out as well , buy there boiler , go's t*ts up than spend 15 / 20 minutes on the phone at a premium rate (?)

buy there boiler with the 20 page + users instructions & all the codes to de-cipher :) :)

Throw in some plastic & rubber hoses , Home swerve , D&G, poaching, leider hosen , Scnapps & that about sums up Vaillant

While you make a valid point regarding these boiler manufacturers Lee. But the complete blame for this situation can't be placed at their door solely. Our industry is a an all time low, with poorly trained cowboys, ex milkmen & general chancers completing very short Mickey Mouse courses. Then there's the cowboy training establishments, they offer easy payment plans for their poor quality courses.

The whole situation has lead to a vast army of poorly trained, inexperienced chancers & a totally unsuspecting British public that think a Gas Safe badge will mean they're getting a experienced, trained installer/engineer. Where that's far from the case!!!

Can you blame boiler manufacturers for offering a service, can you really blame them??

boiler manus are not interested in the chancer or X milkman .

There not social workers doing it for the betterment of man kind,

they smell a buck , long warranties , fixed price repairs , 7, 8 ,10 years of servicing via home swerve who paid em for the lead

so on & so forth.

Shaft the little bloke in the street , we may have to bend over , but we do not need to lube up as well ffs

:)

yes you can blame them.. what they should be doing is creating stimulating ways to raise standards within the industry, the promoting those installers that undertake CPD just like any other industry..

but instead we sell their boilers, and then they take away our client..

The point is; the country is full of sh.t, poorly trained- with limited experience installers. Route out the course cowboys & chancers, licence the installers as is done in many other countries & standards will improve.

At the end of the day it's the customers choice as to whom will service their boiler as most installers only offer a tail light warranty. In a free market economy; if you can't keep your customers, someone else will.

Richard, we have one way or another asked vaillant not to contact our customers, and they have ignored that, and sent letters offering a competing service.

That is blatant breech of contract between installer and vaillant

some manufacturers sell and install spare parts at the same price as they sell to us..

That is un fair competition.

At the end of the day it just comes down to business, like any company they are out there to make money. Boilers aren't like what they used to be and there's a lot more than thermocouple, blocked pilot or gas valve to go wrong.
We all seem to forget the curry and **** ups paid for by the manufacturers reps. Not to mention the times an installer has made a boo boo trying to fix a boiler and got out of his depth and called the rep to get one of their engineers out for free.
As for long warranties think of all those people than won't be going to BG for contracts, which can only be a good thing

but a decent installs will install a boiler that produced no issues..yet my client is stolen from me.

Th manufacturers have an inept and inappropriate business model that needs to address the interests of their clients, the independent installers who pays a premium price for boilers.

you don't need an MBA to come up with a better business model, just to understand the industry..

The point is the country is full of sh*products , dumped onto the public by sh** companies , which pretty much sums up the boiler market really

Boilers are sold in this country that they would never dare sell in Germany , the krauts would not buy the rubbish & its sold here at a top end price as well

There all rip off merchants & scam artists , full BS as well.

Installers duped into buying said product for a free wooly hat or pair of Y fronts

vaillant / Ideal = out for a buck C's & tread on the small installer/ bloke in the street to do it & rip joe public off on spares
:)

Of course the boilers are cr.p. But like my mate that had a British Leyland dealership, oh & a Rolls Royce, they're the best product in the world.

For genuine installers that cares about what he recommends & installs, you can only fit what you think is the best for your customers. If the product or the manufacturer lets you down, in any way! Move on to the next one & tell their Rep why they've let you down.

You're not their main client, they don't care about you enough to change their ways. Sorry mate but you're small fry.
