Took this monster out today and replaced with a 30SI.

Could'nt for the life of me suss it at first :oops:

If you owd boys out there used to fit these in your younger days, then my hat goes off to you.

Whats the huge valve and 3" solenoid all about :wink:

Did'nt want to do this but needed to get through work load, golf tomorrow and final on sat, whorst is got to go up to kieghley on sat morn to buid a chip range :shock: :shock: God help me :lol:

sheesh Its a nightmare to buid anything, and I hear that you can get nicked these days for buiding a chip pan

Anyhow I have never ever done owt with catering whats with building a chip pan??

A bucket, a flue cage, 100 gallons of rendered cow fat and rather a lot of taters job done,

i hate old stuff like that vaillant sine etc etc leave em to the old boys :wink: thats what i used to say in me last job everytime i saw one
 
The big silver valve is the gas section.The round black block at the front is a pressure differential valve actuated by pump pressure.It pushes a pin on the gas valve.The 3" solenoid is a 20v dc solenoid powered from pcb.

Whats' life like in the kitchen then Craig? Going through Industrial at the moment and finishing with comcats, which is speculative really. It's chicken and egg(fried) - don't know what work there is about until you say you can do it...
One guy refreshing only works 8 hours a week, two shifts in hotels 11pm to 3 am! Reckons he makes a living for him and his moggy.
 
These are still quite repairable boilers if you understand them.

The angled screw below the gas valve solenoid is a pnematic damper on the high/low flame change.

A few years ago when no one could explain them to me I had to spend a little time working it out for myself.

Now I am fine with them.
