First post, help needed. I need to recharge the expansion vessel on my boiler. I have opened it up and the only thing i can see that looks like it, is a small type pot sited by the pump. It does have a nibble on it but its very difficult to get a valve on it.

Surely a windup?? That's the autovent! U need to get someone in mate before u hurt urself, this boiler needs to be drained to refill exp vessel

I didn't drain the system as I wasn't sure where the expansion vessel was. When I locate it I'm sure I will have no problems re pressurizing it.

How did you arrive at the decision you need to recharge the vessel?

Because the pressure has dropped below 1 bar. I can't increase it with the filling loop . Which I have done before

its not the expansion vessel then mate that wont stop it filling your goin down the wrong route.get someone in,you dont know enough about the boiler obviously .its gonna be cheaper in the long run

Thanks , the system is full but the pressure is a bit low. I thought if I re charged it the pressure would go up. Boiler is working fine at the moment .
