Hi,

I Have a Vaillant combi boiler indoors, cant find the model number but found one similar on ebay called a Turbomax VUW 282/1 E , the only difference is that my one doesnt have a timer on the boiler but on the wall next to it. I Turned on the central heating the other day and it just isnt kicking in, i stick it on on, constant, timer and nothing. The hot water is fine, the only way i can get the heating to work is to press the Boost button on the digital control panel on the wall. what i have noticed is the water pressure is up to 2.5/3 . could this be any thing to do with it? any help that can be given would be great. thanks

If the heating works properly when you use the boost button the fault must be with the programmer. Reduce the system pressure to 1.5 bar max and make sure the filling loop is turned fully off - disconnect hose to check.

I Think what the problem is with the over filling of the water was when i decorated recently i took a radiator of to wall paper behind it, and topped the water up to compansate. when the heating was on and working i checked the water pressure and noticed it was down below the 1 mark, not thinking i topped it up, and when i turned it of it went up to near the 3 mark. if the program is playing up, does that mean i have to change the programer on the wall, or is their an internal one i have to deal with? also what is that boost button actually for? thanks for all your advise!

Yes, that's the simplest thing to do, usually. Any single channel programmer or timer will do, but you might want to consider a programmable room stat to improve the control.
