Hi guys! Realy like this place!

I have a VCW GB 242 EH Combi boiler.

I had a leaking problem in the DHW exchanger due to the corrosion. As reading on this forum, I got it changed to the Valliant replacement part which is a metal one. The guy who changed it say the wire which has to be cut has already been cut? So therefore no need to cut. The diverter valve has not been changed on this instance.

The centralheating is working alright but I am having some problems with my hot water. As I open the tap for the hot water, it takes about 2 to 3 minutes of time to get the flame switched on. Maybe sometime even 5 minutes. When i switch off the boiler and switch it back on it, and then turn the water on, the flame comes rite away.

Does anyone know what the problem could be? The guy who did it say it could be a electric problem. I will open up the electric circuit and check for myslef if the wire is cut or not.

Please help me someone? And anyone with a manual would be appreaciated! I have email the VAILLIANT but they dont seem to help!

waiting for some replies!

hot water diaphragm sounds like its worn, what wire has to be cut ? not heard of that before.

Hi!

Well according to the manual, it says to cut a wire on the circuit board. Something to do about a hybrid model. I have the one with black knob and grey panel on top.

I have done that and now I still have problems with the hot water. As I start the top tap, the fire starts and then after maybe 5 minutes it switches off. I leave the tap running and then about 5 minutes the hot water comes back and stays for forever or long. I have tested this on all the taps, kitchen, bathroom and showert..same result.

Can you tell me where is this diaphram oin the boiler?

Please help!

sounds to me like diverter valve diaphram as said earlier.. saying that though, you should check the flow switch.

the servo valve operates the diverter valve

IF there is a duff diaphram it will be in the water section which operates the servo valve

It could b a duff diaphragm in the divertor but need more info check the microswitch assembly on the end of divertor it should move fully to the right within a second breaking both the switches Don't worry about the wire the instructions say it should b cut this is to keep the temp lower to reduce scaling it's on the middle pcb on lhs as u look down on usually brown

yes I have checked that switch whcih is located to the right bottom of the boiler and have notice it move to the right as I open hot water. Is the that the swervo switch??

no thats the diverter valve

servo valve/water section is in the middle of the boiler near the control box

Thanks

Sorry typing from my phone somexcuse my spelling n words!! My iphoneis heussiny words!!

Hi Kev

I have checked the servo cam valve spring and the red microswitch on the right bottom of the boiler. The servo cam valve spring is pulling the spring upwards as i start the hot water. And the red microswitch on the bottom right is moving to right as i open the hot water.

I have even taken some pictures on my iphone. Can you help me find which valve I hve to open and replace a diaphragm.

This is a picture from the bottom of the servo valve cam.

I have read your service manual and etc and I think it is the DHW diaphragm which is sticking and it is in the water side. I just need to find it. Will i need the diaphragm or the whole kit???

thanks kev!

sorry i dont know how to make teh pictures appear on teh forum..u will need to click on it!
