Hi. I posted earlier this year about this boiler and lack of hot water. The problem this time is that again, we have no hot water, but this time it appears to be because the top microswitch on the diverter valve assembly (S7) is not being switched on, or rather is very slow to operate when the water is turned on. This switch appears to be activated by the pump when it operates, and works fine when the heating is turned on, but not when the water is turned on. (I can see the switch moving fairly quickly for heating, but slowly for hot water). So any thoughts about the most likely cause of this please?

is your boiler the one with the black facia and the green control knobs ? if so you can either use the diverter valve service kit or replace the whole diverter valve.

Hi. This one has a grey fascia, heating on/off/timer, single black knob for heating and two gauges. According to the wiring diagram on the inside of door, this is a Vailliant Vcw Gb242e or 282e.

they all are , they are all VCW 242 means a 24KW and a combi 282 means 28 KW and a combi the latter 2 means a combi, if it is a 1 means a system boiler, post a pic of the facia so we know what boiler you have
