When I run the hot water it's effecting my heating. The radiator symbol comes on they the tap shortly appears (both flash) which then makes the radiators go cold. My hearing is set at 21 degrees as this is what I need informed it needed to be on for the radiators to come on; not sure if this is correct?
This appears to be a more complicated boiler compared to the last.
Any advice would be much appreciated!!!

There are two versions of the Vaillant ecoTEC. It sounds like you have the combi version, (VUW) and that is how combi boilers work. The hot water has priority, so that central heating goes off when a tap is opened so that the boiler can heat the hot water as you use it. Once the tap is turned 'off' the boiler goes back to heating the radiators. It's not that widely recognised, because most folks don't have a hot tap running for long enough to notice any significant cooling of the radiators.

That wouldn’t be a 615 though.
Could be on a W plan.

Is it a new house or new boiler @Lynda

Ah yes indeed, sorry missed that. Quite right the 615 is a VU version, so not a combi. It was the reference by the OP to the "tap symbol" that made me think combi.
If it’s using Vaillants own controls it could be on a W plan or equivalent hot water priority. Assuming the op has correctly identified the boiler.

Thank you, it's a new boiler system that was installed with the solar panels by the Housing Association. My mum flaps each time the tap comes on as she's aware if it doing so but if this how it' supposed to work I can reassure her!
