Diverter Valve was leaking. Bought new service kit for it and replaced it.
As I was filling up the system, the water started leaking from top of the pump tried every thing just won`t stop leaking.

the aav is stuck try giving it a bit of a knock (and I dont mean bash it with a hammer) if that doesnt work you might have to replace it, the top unscrews so you could try cleaning it out.

If it is the one with the funny plate holding it in place, you probably perforated the pipe.

You put the long screw from bottom of pump in the top. Easily done!

ahh is this the one where you have to remove the pump to get to the divertor valve ?

the turbomax pro and plus have the divertor valve on the left hand side of the boiler and is easy to get at,(just looked at the mi,s) the turbomax 242 has it behind the pump (just looked that up as well) so please forgive me for not knowing which was which. ;)

What I meant was: there are so many of these things around that I lost the plot which one is which. When I get a call about a Vaillant, one of the first things I ask is the gcn.

On this make Diverter valve is on the right side of the boiler and behind the pump. I have just cleaned the AAV and put extra washers on the in side of the top entry of the pump but I am afraid it is still leaking.

There are several causes for leaking on this model.

I normally replace the whole diverter on this one as otherwise an old one can fail at any time and the customer blames me!

All I can say is to see where its leaking from and refit.

as mentioned you could have used the wrong bolt and perforated the tube behind, theres a slightly smaller bolt out of the three holding the pump on.take the pump off and have a look. its easly done, trust me

Just listen to the danger mouse! Everyone does this once! The pump u removed has 3 screws 2 long ones for the bottom holes an 1 short for the top you will have used one of the long screws in the top hole an will have screwed through the pipe behind! Remove pump u ma be able to soldder the hole if your careful or change the pipe :D

Thanks very much to Piacaso, you were right, the problem was the AAV. I cleaned it properly the second time and leak stopped.
Thanks again
