So we moved into our home about a year ago and i am seriously getting uptight with the boiler

We had it serviced last october and then the problems started and still not resolved

started with error message f64 - called our home insurance people who sent out a engineer who literally pressed the ‘restart’ button a day before christmas eve

so thats what i have been doing - everytine we get f64 error message we restart the boiler ( noticed it usually happened when we had both the heating and the hot water on

or if i was having shower and hubby using the hot tap downstairs in kitchen

today i noticed the pressure has gone below 1 - so adjust the pressure right !
Looked below the boiler and nothing to turn just two bolt like piping sticking out

i dont know what to do? Where can i get a key to turn during lockdown and what about the error message f64 - could it be linked to the low pressure

seriously getting stressed out - should i call my home insurance as feel the engineer they sent was rubbish and hasnt resolved the original issue !

The pipes sticking out should have caps on them, and you should have a flexible hose to connect. Remove the caps connect the flexible hose and open up one valve or 2. If you can post a photo it'll be better to explain. I suspect your F64 code is similar to that of other Vaillant's, in which case your home insurance person hasn't done the job correctly. Sorry I can't tell you what it is, as it's against forum rules and possible have-a-go types. So yes, I'd be contacting the home insurance company.

    Hi

now looking at it there is a slot in the middle which suggests that they can be turned ( maybe with a screwdriver)

still unsure i should get home insurance out to fix the original issue especially whether they can attend on easter sunday :(

Hi and thanks for the photos, however the only one of any use is the pressure gauge one. You’re looking for something that resembles one of these:

    External filling loop:

There may be an internal filing loop, but not sure on that boiler what it looks like. The home insurance company can wait (at least a couple of days) as long as you can reset your boiler and can re-pressurise. The F64 is likely to be a part, so may not have it anyway, and depends if parts are included in your premium? If not engage in a gas safe registered engineer, preferably a Vaillant specific one.
