SO you filled again and.........?
If pressure is up and it's still showing f24 then the pressure switch is stuck.

F24 means that there is air in the boiler. Check if the AAV is venting OK and that the pump is vented.

F24: Air in boiler/system, pump blocked or defective, pump output too low

So I think you were right ACO - though there doesn't appear to BE an F code for low water pressure specifically. Memory failure here!!

johnnis make sure the thing which looks like a tyre valve at the back of the pump, on the right, is open a turn or so. If it leaks like they usually do, tough, the thing it's screwed on to will need replacing.

Vaillants make assumptions based on NTC resistances and translate them into possible causes.

preasure stays ok for about 24 hrs then drops to 0 then error code comes on

Oh, if this is a recurrent thing (ie fault code keeps happening and pressure keeps dropping) then its a different matter.

Check for leaks and for signs of water leakage from PRV (15mm copper pipe sticking out of wall usually somewhere underneath flue).

does this error code come on automatically if there is no preasure in system due to leak the prv is fine but the water must be going somewhere thanks for help so far

Error code is a direct result of having no pressure in system: If there is no pressure there is not enough water, if there is no water, there is air, if there is air, the fault code appears once the air is inside boiler.

But is it from a (static) pressure switch, or would air in the primary from sensor give f24?? Error test implies it could be either.
