VARILIGHT TOUCH DIMMER PROBLEMS >>>>>PLEASE H

Hello,

I am experiencing some problems with the touch dimmers I have them installed throughout the house and they all work fine except for the two in my living room they turn on and off by themselves randomly or sometimes don’t even turn of they just dim up and down continuously. I have checked and re-checked the wiring. Also checked the lighting circuits. I have used a touch dimmer from a room that it works fine in to test and I still get the same problem, when I use a standard dimmer or switch the lights work perfectly. Is there anyway the problem can be fixed as I really like the touch dimmer

So, you'll have to wait for someone who knows about Varilight stuff to come back from football/pub/taking the dogs and kids out/shopping etc

then, and only then they might have a few minutes to think about your problem.

These dimmers can be programmed to work with your tv remote control.

Bit of a left-field but its not happening with you are surfing channels by any chance. As it might be that your remote is effecting them

If it is it is quite simple to reprogramme them

I've heard that light can cause them to act strangely when shining into them, such as a car driving by with the lights on, or bright white flash from the TV.....

Really; I have never heard of this - you have not seen it yourself then?

No I haven't personally seen it, I am quite happy with standard rotary dimmers. I read about them reacting to direct light somewhere, can't remember where though!

hey taylorwocities sorry for being a bit "pushy" it's just that I had family coming over Saturday and did not want them to think I installed a home disco system the way theses lights are playing up, as you can probably understand.

So that didn't happen as the problem persists. I heard about the lights affecting them but my curtains are closed and conducted my own test with flash cameras and torches and they don't deem to affect it never do the remote controls.

The only thing i can think of is the wiring or transformers etc hope someone can help me out i seem to be the only one experiencing this

What type of lamp are you trying to dim?
You say transformers so I presume it is a low voltage light fitting, are you sure these transformers are dimmable?

ETA sorry didn't see you previously said you had them dimming off a standard dimmer.

I'am using standard 100w gls bulbs, There not low voltage, and i have no transformers installed its so puzzling

How many bulbs are you trying to dim? What's the rating of the dimmer? Does it work ok with just one bulb connected?

You haven't installed two masters in a 2-way arrangement, have you?
