I wundered if i'm the only veggie on diynot or if there was any more out there.

Wy are you a veggie? health? animal welfare? or other?

I was a veggie for a number of years...as i hate animal cruelty... but as you get older you realise you're out of this tv show within 70 years or so.... and animals don't really matter to your life... after all lions kill animals everyday !!! and will continue to do so way after you're rotting in the gound !!!

I first started to go off the idea of meat when overtaking or being overtaken by an animal transporter, you're going down the motorway side by side for a few miles and their eyes are on the same level as you and they're looking at you, it just seemed so calous, if i had to go out and hunt for food and kill it i could do that, anyway about the same time there was a Horizon documentary about the South Sea Islanders how they were infected with CJD, if i had to choose between CJD & Aides i would take Aides.

When we had the outbreak of mad cow, meat was off the menu so the surplus went into cold storage, seven yrs later i was trucking for Safeway and we were taking the frozen meat back out of storage to go into the shops.

People need feeding, CJD and other mishaps will happen along the way, i think we should be concerned about bees before animals.

That brings back some memories
I was doing that out of tilbury docks back to hays storage in dagenham.
Containers had been in storage up to 7 yrs.

I was pulling it out of Droitwich, seven years was the maximum storage time and the vets were also there inspecting the carcasses as they came out.

Mind you wasn't as bad as the drivers that was hauling the dead stock about.

Veggies get a bit of a bad press. Personally I think they're OK but I couldn't eat a whole one.

Why don't animals matter?

.

I remember that documentary. Wasn't the CJD passed on through cannibalism though ??

My pet hate is the "hard core" veggies always thrusting their ideas onto others ( Not saying thats being done here by any means).
In my experience they are the ones with colds, ill looking and underweight.

if animals were't meant to be eaten then why are they made out of meat!!!

saying that I dont eat meat at every meal time either. but you cant beat a bacon buttie.

my misses used to be a veggy but now she is just a fussy eater haha. as when she was pregnant last time she had craving for black pudding. I mean i know some pretty hardcore meat eaters that wouldnt eat that stuff.....
