Can anyone confirm what is the outside dimension of a 78cm x 98cm Velux. I've hunted high and low on Google including the Velux installation guide and all they say is the roof aperture needs to 40mm to 50mm wider than the window.

I can confirm it is what they say it is! The 40-50 mm gap is recommended for insulation.
