An elderly neighbour's celining fan is being activated by a nearby amateur radio transmitter which switches it on and off. The installation is about 10 years old and I do not know how it is wired inthe ceiling. Does anybody have any suggestions as to how to cure this. It does have a pull cord inside the bathroom itself, and a timer which keeps the fan active for a period of time after it has been turned off. I'm assuming its the electronics that are picking up the radio signal.

Switched live cable to the fan (both live and neutral) should pass several times through a ferrite ring located inside the fan box.
