HI I Need some help. I have recently fitted a veritas r8 system. Everything is wired up properly I believe but when I come to set or walk test the system I have four constant active zone which are the pirs. I believe the fault could've down to a blown fuse but there is only one fuse in the board which is the power. Any suggestions would greatly appreciated as its driving me mad not been able to sort it.
thanks in advance

On the pirs, are the activity lights on?

If not, something isn't wired correctly, as for a zone to be active, the pir has to 'break' the circuit.

No the lights don't come on. They flash when the board is powered up but that's it.

The pirs are wired pos and neg to the aux pos and neg in the board
Alarm to zone
And tamper to tamper.
Because there are 4 pirs and two dcs all the pos and neg cables are in to a connector block then a single wire to the board and same with the tampers

Do you have a multimeter? If so do you have 13volts dc at the pos and neg connectors in each of the PIR's?

Try to simplify the problem. Disconnect all the wires to all of the PIRs at the panel then reconnect only one of the PIRs. Does that one then work?

I've got a suggestion, get and learn how to use a meter or get someone in.

The R8 has 5x fuses, not 1

I believe the fault could've down to a blown fuse but there is only one fuse in the board which is the power.

When Texecom updated their panels a couple of years ago the replaced the glass fuses on the main PCB with "Thermal Fuses" resettable ones.

The installation instructions still show them as glass fuses, they are in the same location on the board as shown in the book and should be labled F2, F3 etc the same as before.

You say you have put all the cables into connector blocks then ran singles to the board, do the tampers not need to be wired in series rather than parallel?
