Vertex Flues

I did my acs this week and I had a question and a manual for a ideal classic vertex flue. maybe you should go and ask them for a look :D nic training in luton

Vertex flue kits were available as an optional extra. The MI's are on the Ideal web site under disc products search. As mentioned the vent requirements would be as for an open flued boiler with no adventitious air allowance.
Air brick in the gable end would do as would vented soffits.

Cheers mickey and 45year when they first came out it was for apollos never ever seen them on anything else ,ya live and learn.

This is what I thought but was seeking clarification. It is possible, looking at other houses near by that the soffits were once vented and replaced with out.
Thank you to all those that replied.

Vertex flue systems are Room sealed. unless it has a draft diverter ?

All the vertex iv ever seen does not have a break in the inner flue so classed as RS.

boiler in a compartment will require ventilation for cooling purposes

no draught diverter nor a flue break is in the room in which the boiler is installed, and therefor the flue and appliance is sealed from the space in which it has been installed.

happy now  good arnt i

Boiler in a compartment won't necessarily require ventilation.............& NO you are not GOOD , you are a fool who should know when to shut it.

How the vertex flue arrangement ever got passed is beyond me , the homeowner throwing stuff in the loft can easily block ventilaion , considering these 'breaks' in 'outer' flue are 'usually' 300mm above rafter could easily cause issues , never have nor never will fit a vertex flue , WHY the need too?

"Break in flue" WTF? , you should be banned from here along with all your ALIASES.

am spot on. some vertex flue systems have draft diverters some do not.

Does this apply to all clasification 'C' flue types? , ie: C71 , C72 , C73?
