Very basic question for a non blonde to answer

Just had a new timer thingy installed for my electric immersion.

Now, I reckon its athree setting device. Timed off and constant.
It has three postions, a clock face which I take as timed, and then an 0 and a I.

Which is off anf which is is constant?

I think the thermostat has gone too, but I'll be back after more investigating!
