I am a newbie when it comes to doing things in the house but i have a good old corporation style house which i bought recently and i am coming to sort out the kitchen floor and have found a whole host of issues which i need help in resolving. Please see attached pictures

First thing i have vinyl flooring coming this week but can be rearranged and i was wondering i there was anything i could fill around the broken areas to make it flat and then lay it over the top and not glue it down

Secondly do we lift the floor completely and then can we cover the dips to make it level or is there anything else anyone can suggest we do as we are on a very very tight budget

Many thanks

sorry but photos do not tell all the story......

I suspect that it needs screeding.....

but if money is tight AND that is the only damage to the floor then you may get away with a small repair with an "ardurapid" type repair (basically a "mix with water" type of screed, self levelling may even work)

BUT we do not know what sort of damp course your "slab" has, or if it continues up to the patio window?

cracks do not really "show through" vinyl flooring (if small) but lumps and hollows WILL!

You should really ask your fitter what they recommend

Hi

Many thanks for for your advise i will carefully take it up and see what i am left with and hopefully a small repair will be needed.
