I have a floating chipboard floor to the ground floor of our house and am looking at laying either laminate or vinyl tiles over some of it.
I have over time replaced all of the chipboard with new. We have block and beam floor with 25mm polystyrene on top then a thick polythene type material between that and the chipboard
It is a little bouncy in places and levels are a little out, but only a few mm here and there.

Would laminate/Vinyl be ok to be laid and if so would a normal underlay suffice without the need for a damp proof barrier too??
Thanks

Sounds perfect as-is, no need for DPM. A lot of laminate underlay includes a DPM anyway, whether you need it or not.
