You can take a coax cable from the connector on the back of the box which is marked as one of the following:

TO TV
RF OUT
TV

You could also use the SCART or HDMI outputs (assuming your tv has those connections) but you would probably need to buy the connectors and cable and build it yourself to the correct length.

Virgin boxes don't output on the RF out - it is simply a pass-through. At least, mine is.

The RF output is disabled if you're using the HD connection, otherwise it is enabled, and the RF output channel can be changed in the engineer's menu. It's rather annoying, and they have even removed any possibility of allowing simultaneous HD and SD output by disabling the SCART outputs when HD is enabled.

I have a V+Box (Scientific Atlanta) connected to TV via HDMI at the moment. Just going to see if the RF out works (outputs the selected channel)

Yep, just confirmed that on my box...

HD boxes don't RF outs but SD do as mine samsung that is 18 months old is enabled but the other week my sister in law had her box replaced with the same model as mine and the engineer said they don't enable the rf out anymore.

You could ask on this site below because it might be disabled in the engineering menu which should be able to be switched on or if it's in the firmware then it probably won't.
