There's a Vocaliser on a friend's (cash strapped) business premises. Not been serviced for years, and currently concerned about undue attention to the building.
Need to alter and add phone numbers, but the installer obviously altered the user & engineer security codes from factory.

In the instructions it says enter 93 (think it is) to go back to default.

Don't know how you can do that without getting into the menu first!

Helpline guy says flick the NVM up & down repeatedly - tried for half an hour but doesn't work!

Anyone any suggestions?????? ....... please :?:

Don't really want to have to replace the speech dialer all for the fact of changing the phone number.
So frustrating not being able to get into the menu.

Someone must have had this problem before ...... anyone? :?

I assume you have found the link to the users manual on this page

If that is a switch it suggests that the NVR ( non volative ram ) can be "cleared" by removing all power from it. ( the contents corrupt and the machine then reacts by resetting the contents to the defaults ). Pwer sources are the normal supply, possibly a stand by battery and quite likely a small battery fitted to or soldered to the PCB. This is the one that the NVR switch disconnects.

Turn the power off, disconnect any batteries and then operate the NVR switch and leave off for at least 30 seconds. Then switch it back on and restore power.
