Hi all, first time poster here so be gentle, haha! I have been researching this on other posts but information seems to vary the deeper I get into my own problem so thought I'd post my own. Any help is appreciated.
Anyway, the other day I found DHW wasn't heating properly. Warm but not hot. After researching it seemed the problem was most likely the diverter valve - when HW tap is on radiators start to heat up. New diverter valve was fitted but same problem. Motor seems to be working (although I've convinced myself this is the problem!) And boiler stays on for extended periods of time with no demand for HW or CH trying to reach temperature setpoint.
Thanks in advance for help/advice.

Andy.

Ah yes, when pushing diverter valve in manually the HW seems to work properly. Motor is getting correct voltage and works visually when removed from valve. I can also hear it actuating when conncted and stopping when it reaches its limit so it does seem to be working. Do I just buy a new motor to rule it out?

Cheers,

Andy.

If your secondary heat exchanger is gunged up, much of the primary water will go through the radiators instead even if the diverter valve is fine. (Mine is suffering from this right now.). Does the hot tap water get hotter if you turn off all the radiators, so it cannot flow that way? How clean is your circulation water?

The system is pretty black inside. Replaced all the pipework in it a few years back as I wasn't getting a good flow through the microbore that was originally on it. Had it last cleaned out a couple of years ago. Could be the issue here. Will try shutting off the radiators after work tomorrow then.
As I mentioned before, the water did run hot when I manually pushed the diverter in? Maybe just a slightly increased flow rate compared to the motor actuator?

Andy.
