Firstly I couldn't get consistent hot water from my boiler it would run warm and then go cold and then warm again, and now I'm not getting any water coming through the hot taps. I have been told it's the 3-way valve that's stuck. The rads heat perfectly.

you mean you are getting no water at all or just cold water?

ill assume you mean cold water.

not much info there and it could be a few things.

one to check yourself is, with the boiler completely cold, turn on a hot tap, watch the boiler fire, check if the heating flow pipe below the boiler is getting hot (second pipe from the left), if it does its the diverter seals are most likely worn.

if it doesnt and the hot water outlet pipe is cold/luke warm (second from the right) check to see if the flame visible through the window switches high and low a lot or goes out completely and restarts a lot, if it does then the plate heat exchanger could be blocked.

either way you are probably best to get it properly serviced, lineas need a bare minimum of fan/venturi/main heat exhanger cleaning every year otherwise they will start to play up.

dont bin it, they are a good boiler.

Thanks for that nickso.... I'll check those things tonight

I was getting a mixture of temperatures, but not searing hot over the weekend, but last night the water flow from all hot taps stopped

Just moved into the house this weekend and had confirmation that it was serviced 2 weeks ago, had the plumber who serviced it come to have a look and he said it worked perfectly then, and suggested it was the triple valve, he wasn't much help and showed little interest in helping sort problem.

if you are getting no water flow at all then the filling valve is in the wrong position. look under the boiler, right hand side, black handle. it has three positions, normal running position is with the handle pointing upwards.

do that and then check the things above for the temperature fault.

you may want to find someone to service the boiler that knows them and is a little more enthusiastic, your guy sounds poor.

Will do all that thanks....

Unfortunately he was brought in by previous owners, so we thought use him because he knows the boiler.... clearly not always the best solution

ah the triple valve. they usually are the first things to go and are located next to the jumper shield which is located to the left of the flux capacitor :D

as nickso says the filling valve is probably been left off.
usually done by customers topping up the system

once youve put that back on check the hot water faults then
