Vokera Linea Max issue

Hi all,
I have the above boiler (20 yrs old). My boiler was firing up randomly even outside of the timer. This is causing big bills! I’m currently manually using water only but have noticed that the radiators are on. Any advice? Thanks in advance.

Could be the selector switch is broken, could be the diverter valve has failed and any hot water demand is flowing through radiator circuit.

The supply of hot water is fine. I’ve just turned the heating control to its minimum setting. Be interesting to see if radiators still get hot.

Frost stat due to faulty NTC. Or Diverter passing on pre heat

Turn the selector swith on the boiler facia to the off position, does the red display go off ?

When I put selector on water only the green light appears. When I move to central off position there are no lights.

OK then the selector switch is not snapped (very common problem earlier) so your diverter valve is passing, you get a service kit for these T0063 plenty on ebay, not expensive

Thanks for that, they say for Linea 24 or 28? Does that cover the Linea Max?

Yes it is basically a floor standing linea with a store.
the diverter kit does not contain a spindle but they clean fine with green scouring pad.

yes same kit across the range, dont worry if you have some spare bits, you will have

Some come with the spindle but as you say usually clean up well anyway

no reason why not, you will not be going anywhere near anything to do with gas

I am intreagued Dan , so what else could cause heat bleed to rads when HW only running on a Linea Max ? always happy to learn mate
