when you change a gas valve on a volkera 80 do you have to swap the modureg over from the old one.

im asking cause if you look at the valve listed there is no electric governor, it shows a manual one...

It sounds as if you want to modify a different gas valve to approximate to a different one.
Apparently all when you are not CORGi registered.

no m8t all im asking ,is that the right valve or not caues mine is different.Or should it come with a electric governor. Im not saying im going to modify just want to know. cause the valve fitted on my boiler, the serial number says thats the right one. But the incorrect valve could of been fitter before and thats why the dam thins not run right since iv moved in.

The body can have a selection of different internal bits to provide soft starting and other diferent requirements.
They are then fitted with solenoids for particular voltages etc.
They can be fitted with fixed regulators or with several different modulating coils for different applications.
A genuine manufacturers part comes complete with the additions and settings appropriate to that appliance.
Ezypart sell generic gas valves that are not genuine boiler manufacturers parts. They may fit some boilers as supplied but not necessarily.
A CORGI registerd engineer is only expected to fit genuine manufacturers parts but still has to set them up within the particular boiler.
As you are not CORGI registered then I dont think you should even be comtemplating changing gas parts without the necessary skills and test equipment to ensure it has been done safely.

yeah m8t but the valve is the same softlite ect and same manufacture honeywell. the only difference is mine has got the electric reg. i think i will phone volkera to ask them.
Sorry; you've answered your own statement - quite simply the valve is not the same then is it???
You should only be purchasing genuine spares as Agile stated; stay clear of all these cheap and cheerful "we bung it in a box and post it" Internet sites; show some savvy and take a trip to your local merchants with your boiler details and they will happily assist you.
I just pray that you know how to set the thing up and have the appropriate tooling.

thank you very much thats all i wanted to know. so if my modureg has packed up it would be a different order number i.e part
I am not saying the coil could not be defective, only that I have yet to replace one.
Usually it's malfunction is due to people tinkering with it. Great boiler.
You will be in pocket getting someone who knows his Vokera to carry out a full service instead of changing parts one by one. This is a slippery slope as each change could effect other parts with adjustments slipped outside the envelope of operation.
