I have just bought a wireless cctv system. I attached a new 9v battery and within minutes the battery was dead. My question now is this: in the instruction manual it says you can add a 5-8v 500Ma power supply instead of using 9v battery. Having looked on flea bay there isn't many power supplies with this rating, a guy on there says a 9v 500Ma will do the trick. Is he right or is he after taking my money and blowing up my camera ?

you dont need the technicalities, but it stays at the voltage it says (9 in your case)
